If you’re looking for one festival to catch all the music you’ve been missing out on this year at Ohio State, look no further. MCoachella, the only festival featuring students and bands exclusively from Ohio State, is happening April 15 and 16 in the RPAC Plaza.
The festival features 11 distinct bands, from pop punk to hip hop.
The festival is hosted by OSU club Musician’s Collective, a group on campus dedicated to providing opportunities for musicians to play together, as well as play for an audience. MCoachella is the culmination of all of this that goes on throughout the year, from weekly meetings to weekend house shows.
The members of Musician’s Collective have put together a stacked lineup this year, including instrumental solo musician Dayrider and acoustic punk group moderately attractive. The festival will also feature pop duo Twinzsz, R&B group The Cold Collective, and improv looper Gryff.
“We’ll be outside enjoying spring weather, listening to music, and having free food and drinks. MCoachella typically draws around 200 people throughout the weekend, so it’s an opportunity to perform for friends and hopefully reach some new ears,” said Musician’s Collective President, Cameron Carr.
Performances run from 4:30 to 6:30 on Saturday, and from 4:00 to 6:30 on Sunday. Check out the schedule and visit the Facebook event page for more information.
