The Columbus-based Fashion Meets Music Festival returns Labor Day weekend with its third annual blend of music and fashion featuring the likes of DJ Khaled, BORNS, Passion Pit, Matt & Kim, New Politics and more.
The Indie Sound had the pleasure to cover last year’s Fashion Meets Music Festival and experience sets from big names like Vacationer, St. Vincent and Young the Giant, but this year, the music festivals aims to shake the capital city with sets from musicians big and small from a variety of different genres.
“FMMF creates an epic weekend experience in Columbus by combining music, fashion, passion, and purpose to celebrate creativity in our city and to foster growth and collaboration each year,” said Melissa Dickson, Communications Director at Fashion Meets Music Festival.
“We are striving to create more unique experiences, deliver stronger music and fashion partnerships, and position Columbus as a national hub for fashion, music, food, art, and education.”
On top of some of the big names that will be performing at the festival this year, attendees can also expect wristbands that will allow them to go cashless and paperless. The festival hopes that in doing so, it can cut down on waste throughout the two days the festival will take place.
Continuing with what the festival has done in years past, a portion of the proceeds made from ticket sales will support Fashion Meets Music Festival’s Fusion Foundation, a philanthropy program established to aid creative individuals in achieving their goals by providing time, talent, networking and financial support.
With big names like Passion Pit, who recently released its third studio album Kindred, BORNS, who has been climbing the ladder with stellar performances of songs off of its debut record Dopamine and Matt & Kim, who are known for their wild performances in Columbus, hitting the stage, attendees will have a lot to look forward to.
They may even have the chance to find the keys to success with DJ Khaled…
Fans will also have the chance to experience some local and regional bands that may not be household names yet, but put on a great show nonetheless. Returning act (and good friends of ours here at The Indie Sound) Captiva will take the stage to play tracks off of their debut EP among The Outer Vibe, LEDGES and more.
This year’s festival will be one to remember. Early bird tickets are now on sale: $69.99 for General Admission & $149.99 for VIP. Get them while you can!
